The European shipbuilder successfully updated the Antares line (models Antares-6/9) and the Barracuda line (models Barracuda-6/9). The Antares-6 model is a small boat equipped with a 115-horsepower outboard motor. The boat received a wheelhouse of the closed type, a special design of the rear bench, which allows you to quickly raise the engine. The ship’s engineers made the entrance to the cabin just below the deck to gain additional space. This is how they solved the problem with the lack of useful space on a small 6-meter motor boat.
The Antares-9 model received a larger body. When creating the boat, the innovative Airstep technology was used, which allows you to reduce the coefficient of friction on the water and improve the hydrodynamic characteristics of the hull. In essence, the body is a system of redans that pump air under the bottom in running mode. The maximum configuration provides for the configuration of the boat with 2 200-horsepower engines. If desired, the boat can be equipped with 600-liter fuel tanks, 160-liter tanks for storing fresh water. These are tanks of increased capacity, which allow to increase the autonomy of the motor boat. Considering the operational and technical characteristics, this option will not be superfluous if you plan to use the boat for small cruises. On board Antares-9 there is a galley, a bathroom, and two comfortable cabins.
The shipbuilder presented the 5.5-meter Barracuda-6 boat to the public at the recent yacht show in Southampton. It is a fast, maneuverable boat with a lot of equipment. The boat attracted a lot of attention at the boat show thanks to its bright appearance and competent planning. The developer arranged a closed type storeroom directly under the control tower. The pantry can be used as an additional bed. At the request of the client, the shipbuilder can install a more powerful power plant on the galley boats. There are three options at once, namely a 90-horsepower engine, a 115-horsepower engine and a more powerful 140-horsepower power unit.
The boat manufacturer promises to put the Barracuda-9 into production at the beginning of next year. Among the main advantages of the “older brother” of the 6-model is a spacious control post, a convenient dashboard with 2 12-inch screens (mounted optionally, at the request of the customer). To make movement by boat more convenient, to speed up the boarding process, the developer equipped the wheelhouse with additional doors. There are also large sliding glass doors. They are located on the stern side. The doors of this design are very convenient and practical, let in daylight well, and provide natural ventilation of the room.
Marine engineers of the Beneteau company equipped the galley of the 9th model of the Barracuda line with a capacious refrigerator, and a large cabin with a toilet and shower was hidden under the deck. On the midel is a cabin of a more modest size, which can be used as a storeroom. If necessary, you can equip a sleeping place there. The boat is equipped with two 500-horsepower engines, two 400- or 600-liter fuel tanks. This boat, one can come to a disappointing conclusion, is quite suitable for sea voyages. According to the developer, the Barracuda-9 motorboat can take up to 10 people on board.
